About the practice
Experience grounded in construction.
Residential design leadership informed by field experience, building science, and a commitment to clear documentation.

Michael Cozart comes from a multigenerational construction family and has operated his residential design practice since 2010. His background spans multiple areas of construction, with hands-on experience in framing, concrete, HVAC, plumbing, and finish work. That field experience provides a practical understanding of how a design is assembled, coordinated, and ultimately built.
At the center of Michael's work is a genuine love of problem-solving, science, and art. He is drawn to the proportions, rhythm, and relationships that give a building visual interest while allowing its spaces to feel settled, protective, and welcoming—a sense of refuge. Together, technical inquiry, artistic composition, and practical problem-solving form the foundation of good architecture. A strong understanding of the architecture, engineering, and construction industries also makes it possible to anticipate challenges, coordinate with the right professionals, and help clients and builders navigate issues as they arise.
Michael continually pursues current developments in building science, construction technology, codes, and industry best practices. He also collaborates with an established Denver architecture firm on commercial projects, expanding his experience with larger teams, complex coordination, and commercial construction. That same commitment is applied to every project: each drawing set is carefully developed and reviewed to provide clear, coordinated, high-quality construction documents.
