A low, view-driven mountain residence organized around nearly 360-degree Arkansas Valley views, durable ICCF construction, and a strong connection to the surrounding peaks.
Project overview
Set within the open landscape of the Arkansas Valley, this contemporary mountain residence was shaped by the surroundings from the earliest planning sketches. Its low, horizontal form and carefully positioned glazing capture nearly 360-degree views toward the surrounding ranges and the Collegiate Peaks. Deep overhangs and a protected courtyard extend daily life into the landscape while providing shelter from the high-country sun and weather.
The connection to place is made literal through brass survey markers set into the floor, each aligned with a different summit. Natural stone, wood-toned cladding, and a dark standing-seam metal roof help the home settle into the broad valley setting rather than compete with it.
Behind the material warmth is a durable, high-performance enclosure built with a RASTRA ICCF wall system. The result is a carefully crafted residence intended to provide lasting comfort and serve its occupants for generations.
